Roe v. Wade—41 Years of Abortion
Today is the 41st Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in this country. Also today, Crown Rights Media, released their long-awaited film, Babies Are Murdered Here (watch it below) in which Dr. R.C. Sproul Jr. is interviewed extensively as one of those who has been a tireless voice for the unborn. This film is a journey into the darkest corners of our culture where Babies Are Murdered . . . Here. Few are willing to go to these dark corners to do anything, to say anything, to even try to stem the bloody tide of abortion in America. This film ventures into some of these places, unassuming neighborhoods, like yours. Director Marcus Pittman finds and speaks with the few who stand in visible opposition to the murderous practice of abortion; humble obedient people like Jon Speed, John Barros, Patte Smith, and Rusty Thomas. They stand to preach the gospel. They stand to turn away those stumbling to the slaughter. They stand to pray. They stand because their Lord tells them to protect the fatherless, and seek justice for the afflicted and needy.
The Church & Abortion
This is the work of the church. God’s Word tells us that we are to practice pure and undefiled religion, which is to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and keep ourselves unstained by the world (James 1:27). The more than 3000 babies murdered every day in America are a testament that we are not doing this. What child is more orphaned than one who is being murdered by his own parents? This film is a call to the church. It is a call to repentance for what we have not done. It is a call to action for what we have yet to do.
The single reason why people need to see, to share, to show Babies Are Murdered Here is because babies are murdered here. Don’t let the film break your heart—let that Babies Are Murdered Here break your heart. If we want to see the world change on the issue, we have to pray God would awaken His church. If we want to see His church awakened, we need to pray that even the most active in the pro-life movement would be ever more broken hearted, ever more repentant. The solution to this problem is the solution to every problem—to repent and believe the gospel. — Dr. R.C. Sproul Jr.
On this 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, watch the film. Repent. Believe the Gospel. Then let us see what the Lord will do.
