We are inviting ten couples to come for three days of intense conversation, as well as a great deal of fun. The camp is held at the home of Highlands Ministries President, Eric Owens, in Bristol, Virginia. Dr. R.C. Sproul Jr. will be your teacher.

We will not only talk about how to be a kingdom-building, King-serving family, but we will talk about it in the context of such families.

What will we be studying?

We will follow three distinct but related areas of inquiry: the biblical view of the family, the sovereignty of God, and the unstoppable spread of the Kingdom of God.

We will see how God has established families as His building blocks for the sovereign work of building His kingdom. We will talk together, with plenty of time for questions and answers.

When we are not in our more formal meetings, there will be plenty of additional time for discussion on the topics we are studying, as well as anything else of interest. We will be eating our meals together, and perhaps we will even have some fun together. There will be ample time for reading, recreating and sightseeing. There is no curfew.

Who can come?

Any married or engaged couple is welcome to come. Children—though we affirm with great vigor that they are a blessing—are not invited, and daycare is not provided. Nursing babies, however, are always welcome.

Each couple will be asked to pay a $149 tuition. Your meals during the three days (Thursday dinner thru Saturday lunch) of the camp will be provided. If the fees are too great, don’t let that stop you, we have two scholarships available to help ease the financial burden. If you have any food issues, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Camp will begin on Thursday, June 20 at 4:30 p.m. We’ll get settled, have supper and a couple of talks. Friday we will have four talks and then have another three on Saturday. We are trying to arrange on Friday evening an ice cream social with the good folks of Saint Peter church. On Saturday night, after the formal camp activities have concluded, we like to have dinner together at a local restaurant called The Tavern. This fine dining experience is optional.

We’d also like to encourage our campers, if at all possible, to stick around and worship with us on the Lord’s Day. We have yet to have any campers regret taking the extra time. Worship is not only the end of our lives, but the most fitting end to camp.

Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you.

We certainly learned alot and had so much fun doing so. You all are a very special group of people and everyone made us feel right at home. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom and most importantly, your lives with us.” —Jan S. Midlothian, VA

Is it too late to tell you that Couples Camp was life changing to us, even though we had been married for almost 35 years at the time?  And that we were blessed by every minute? Afterward, I am sure we would have wished to move here except for the fact we already did live here. However, we did begin attending Saint Peter Church the following month. That was coincidence, though, because that happy decision had already been made! — Buz and Nancy Wellons
