Highlands Ministries was originally called the Highlands Study Center and was a ministry of Saint Peter Presbyterian Church, a community of believers comprised of three parishes: Bristol, Tn, Mendota, Va, Abingdon, Va
Saint Peter is committed to:
* The verbal, plenary inspiration, inerrancy, infallibility, and authority of the Holy Scripture.
* The five solas of the Reformation: Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Solo Christo, and Soli Deo Gloria.
* The Westminster Standards
* The preaching of the Word, the exercise of church discipline, and the right celebration of the sacraments.
Elders and Deasons
The elders are the Rev. Laurence Windham, Rev. Steve Murphy, Rev. Wayne Hays, Mr. Charles Humphrey, Mr. Luther (Buz) Wellons and Mr. Don Kiser.
The deacons are Mr. Jon Larson, Mr. Jonathan Daugherty, Mr. D.J. Hammond, Mr. John Vernot and Dr. Andrew Brockmyre.
Denomination
Saint Peter Presbyterian Church is congregation of the Confession of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC) and is committed to the Westminster Standards.
Sunday Worship
We currently gather for corporate worship on Sunday mornings at 9:45am.
The Bristol Parish gathers at the Bristol Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 571 Hwy 126 (Blountville Hwy) in Bristol, Tennessee.
The Mendota Parish meets at 3052 Collier Road in Mendota, Virginia.
The Abingdon Parish meets at the Abingdon Senior Center, 300 Senior Drive Northeast, Abingdon, VA
